Michael Train was an American mid-century printmaker and painter, born 1931 and active in the 1950s onward. His work is represented in the collections of the Brooklyn Museum, UCLA Grunwald Center for the Graphic Arts (Hammer Museum), and the Ruth and Elmer Wellin Museum of Art at Hamilton College. He is listed in the Museum of Modern Art, NYC, as a participating artist in their exhibition Bookworks in 1977.

This untitled woodcut from 1955 reflects mid-century concerns of mass movement, social upheaval, and the individual vs. the collective, with each figure distinct yet overwhelmed - the unsettled psychological predicament of the post-war world.
